Dr. Michael Richardson, DDS.
Dr. Michael L. Richardson, DDS, is an accomplished dentist in Charleston, West Virginia, with more than 30 years of clinical, leadership, and community service experience. He has owned and practiced at South Hills Family Dental Care since 2009. A graduate of West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Dr. Richardson earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1987 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1991. He has remained actively involved with his alma mater, serving on its Admissions Committee and receiving the school’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2026. Dr. Richardson is a leader in organized dentistry at the local, state, and national levels. He served as 2026 President-Elect of the West Virginia Dental Association and will become President in 2027. He has also served as Vice President, a multi-term ADA delegate, 6th District Caucus Chairman, and on several ADA committees. He is a Past President of the Kanawha Valley Dental Society and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Earlier in his career, Dr. Richardson served as Director of Dental Services at Logan General Hospital, with trauma and operating room privileges. His honors include the 2019 Pierre Fauchard Academy Distinguished Dentist Award for West Virginia and a 2005 Hometown Hero Award for providing emergency dental care to local police K-9 units. He continues to serve his community through volunteer work with West Virginia Health Right, Give Kids A Smile, and numerous civic and community programs.
Dr. Josh Petit, DDS.
Dr. Josh Petit is proud to serve the community he has always called home. Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, he is passionate about providing high-quality dental care to patients throughout the area. Dr. Petit earned his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2022, where he was also a member of the college baseball team. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2026. During dental school, he was recognized with the Award for Exemplary Work in Prosthodontics, reflecting his dedication to excellence in restorative and prosthetic dentistry. Committed to delivering exceptional patient care, Dr. Petit strives to create a welcoming, comfortable environment where every patient feels at ease. Known for his hand skills and compassionate approach, he enjoys building lasting relationships while helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
